NOAH D – PERSPECTIVESan Francisco based Noah D (aka Noah Dickinson) is regarded as one of today’s top dubstep DJs and producers. His diverse sound can simply be described as heavy hypnotic bass music. With over 10 years of production experience, first starting in hip-hop and drum & bass, he seamlessly blends genres and pushes the boundaries in the ever-evolving dubstep/bass music scenes.
“I’ve always had a diverse palate for music. My parents always had music playing when I grew up and I used to be obsessed with the first boombox I had. When I picked up a guitar at age 18, I never put it down.”
Noah D started his electronic music career in the late 90’s after listening to drum & bass artists such as Boymerang and Photek. In 2001 he started producing and by 2008 had already released music on well known drum & bass labels such as Renegade Recordings, Human Imprint, Trouble On Vinyl and Pure Vibez all the while receiving worldwide support from some of the genres leading acts such as DJ Hype and Dieselboy.
After being turned onto dubstep from longtime friends and roommates Babylon System, Noah D’s appreciation for the genre increased and the three started collaborating on music.
“I’ve always been more drawn to slow heavy music as opposed to fast heavy music whether electronic or not. Even when I made DNB I worked on a lot of 1/2 step beats so dubstep was a natural progression for me.”
Together they produced the track “Examination of Time” and the second phase of Noah D’s electronic music career began. In 2009 his dubstep track “Seeeriousss” received praise from some of the genres key players (Skream, N-Type and Plastician) saw radio play on BBC’s radio 1, 1xtra, Rinse FM and Kiss and became a full-fledged dubstep anthem. Since then, Noah D has had a slew of releases on various labels such as Subway, H.E.N.C.H., Liondub Intl. and Westbay to name a few.

In 2011 the well-accomplished DJ and producer was signed to Los Angeles based SMOG Records and has since been busy in the studio working on his forthcoming debut full-length album titled, Perspective. Starting simply as collection of music he wanted to share with his friends and fans, the album quickly grew into an intricate piece of work that takes listeners though multiple BPM ranges. It features collaborations from talented vocalists in the areas of hip-hop, dancehall, grime and r’n’b and showcases the depth and diversity his fans have come to know and love.
“I’ve always wanted to do this album. 2012 is all about distinguishing myself as an artist, elevating my career to the next level.”

SMOG announces the release of a new four-track EP from Los Angeles-based DJ/Producer Flinch titled Light it Up. Marking his second release on SMOG, the production for the EP wrapped just days before he hit the road with label-mate 12th Planet on a 28-city tour across North America called “The End Is Near!” The EP was released digitally on February 28th, 2012 at the usual digital shops.
All four songs on the EP were written and produced by Flinch himself and showcase his ability to marry massive, tear-out basslines with creatively placed synth melodies. Title track “Light it Up” featuring vocalist Heather Bright has gained international traction with support from accredited acts such as Skream, Benga, and DJ Craze.
Undeniably one of Dubstep’s fastest rising stars, Flinch (aka Adam Glassco) is a veteran producer who has progressed effortlessly from his beginnings in drum & bass and then electro, to current endeavors into jump-up and deeper, more melodic synth-based dubstep. His single “World On Fire” has been championed by the likes of Skrillex, 12th Planet, and Datsik and he recently took his production skills to go work on Korn’s track “Way Too Far” with production partner 12th Planet.

SPL aka Sam Pool has been feeding the ears and souls of bass-heads worldwide for the last decade. Internationally acclaimed, he delivers with passion and musical prowess that goes beyond the current state of dance music. With a long list of previous releases and a plethora of international performances under his belt he sits in the upper-echelon of world-class producers and performers. His new EP, Terraform, showcases his prolific talent and delivers to listeners a collection of monstrous bass-heavy music.
Shaping up to be another anthem from SPL, title track “Terraform” starts off on a catchy note with trancy pads that quickly lead their way into a brutal smashing of angry synth snarls and bludgeoning basslines. “Essence” takes a nod to the dungeon sound of London, with an SPL flavor of stabs and impressive build-ups. Like the nemesis of Godzilla, “Mothra”, a collaboration with New Zealand natives Crushington aka The Upbeats, stomps and crushes everything in it’s path. The final track on the EP is a VIP remix of “Lootin’ 92”, a track he did with 12th Planet, which will capitalize on it’s previous success and be a sure-fire hit!
